The name Lost Capital comes from daring to chase your dreams. Leaving your job to follow your passion for spicy and fermented foods when you are over your head in student loans. Caring about the quality of the product more than the profit margin. Sourcing the freshest local produce instead of what is cheap and easy. Fermenting our sauces for weeks instead of making and cooking them the same day. Packing bottles with more peppers and less water and vinegar than our competitors. These things would sound like a bad investment to most people, but to us, it sounds like a challenge. If you are willing to spend the extra dollar for a sauce that benefits you and the agricultural community it was made in, then it is time to invest in Lost Capital.

One thing is consistent, the rubs are damn good on everything. Woman-owned and Minnesota created, sourced and produced, we can easily say supporting local never tasted so good. Our Mission: To create rubs that consist of unique high quality ingredients with minimal use of salt. Many rubs use salt as a cheap filler-not us. At HDG, we have a mission to reduce or eliminate salt usage as much as possible and in turn creating tasty rubs that are heart healthy.
Salty Dog Bites & Annie B's Carmels
Annie B’s was founded in 1978 by Tom & Carol Bouquet in Kellogg, MN. The couple enjoyed making caramels out of their kitchen and soon discovered they could make a living doing just that. They named their business after their daughter Annie. In 2015, Annie B’s merged with another highly-respected Minnesota company, B.T. McElrath Chocolatier. Caramels, popcorn and chocolate make a lot of sense together, and you’re sure to see some exciting new products in the coming months.

All our candles are carefully poured by hand, in small batches, in our St. Paul home studio for your enjoyment.
Apple Cinnamon Peanut Butter
Here’s the story of my accidental business. In May of 2012 I decided to make some peanut butter. The only ingredient was roasted salted peanuts. I was amazed how good it was! Within minutes I said to myself that I should try to sell them. I started out at a couple small Farmers Markets. I had 3 flavors, plain Peanut, Almond and Cashew. Everyone loved them! Since Chunky Peanut is my favorite, I made that next. Then came Peanut Butter with Dried Apples, Honey and Cinnamon. It was a huge hit! Chocolate Peanut Butter (no soy or dairy) was next. Another hit!
